Sandra's Story
I was was born in Medellin, Colombia but raised in Queens, NY. I have a background on Sociology and a Masters in Global Health. I worked many years at various non-profit international organizations; working to advocate the improvement of health amongst minorities and people of color. When it came time to start my own family, I decided to work with midwives and doulas for all three of my homebirths. Ultimately my own personal labor and pregnancy experiences inspired me to become a Doula, to help other women during their transition to motherhood.

Experience
Birth and motherhood are the most sacred journeys any woman undertakes. Holding space while helping others find their inner strength to have an empowered birth is truly my passion. Our birth experiences can have lasting impressions on how we face motherhood. Having a birth that you felt honored you and your partner can help you start parenthood feeling confident. Birth is an intimate moment that must be nurtured and kept sacred, as the mission of the laboring mother is to direct a new soul earth-side. I honor birth and hold space for the couple as they are in control of their own birth experience.

Sarah's Story
Sarah founded Blue Moon Birth after the birth of her second child in 2010. She supports birthing families as a Doula, Child Birth Educator and Placenta Encapsulation Specialist in St. Pete, FL where she lives with her family. Her own two births have empowered her and drive her to help other women and families have the experiences that they desire. As a Doula she assists women and their partners in births at hospitals, homes and birth centers. When no babies are being born, she works as an Environmental Scientist for a Marine Engineering firm in St. Pete.
